Kentico CMS provides you with a comfortable way to define, configure and use custom settings. They are stored in the Kentico CMS database and they can have hierarchical structure.

You can define your custom settings in Site Manager -> Development -> Custom settings and configure them in Site Manager -> Settings -> Custom settings. Keys of the custom settings can be used either globally with the possibility to restrict inheritance in case you need to use site-specific settings. Or they can be global only which means all your sites will share the same settings.

If you would like to learn how to manage custom settings, please refer to the Managing custom settings topic.
